Los Arcos was a nice little town. We left for Viana after an early, for us, breakfast at 7 and we were walking about 8:05. The temperature was pleasant and the skies partly cloudy. It was a good walk through fields mainly on gravel agricultural roads. Our place to stay in Viana was at Turistica Ana. A room in a three bedroom, two bath flat. A great bargain and a king size bed! Washing machine. Wonderful. Viana was celebrating the Feast of the Virgin Nieve. There was a running of the bulls like in Pamplona but on a muck smaller scale. The celebration goes on for a week. We found our young French friend Mounira in Viana and spent time with her and her friend Marcos. We had met them the day before in Los Arcos at our alburgue. I talked with Jeni from Western Australia. She started Rice when she was 16 in 1974. She and her husband emigrated to Australia in the nineties, bought a farm and raised their family. Interesting woman. The fiesta carried on till late. In Los Arcos we were in the middle of it but in Viana we hardly heard a thing. Another great day on the Camino.
